Biography

Dr. Menon is a sought-after AI expert and mentor for professional organizations, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). She has delivered talks to media outlets (WAAY31), the Decatur Kiwanis Club, local defense agencies and contractors, and the Huntsville tech community. Dr. Menon has also provided consultancy services for the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), New Sapience, Raytheon, Oasys Inc., and other local industries.

She served as a mentor and volunteer proctor for the IEEEXtreme 16.0 Programming Contest (2022) and a mentor for the Defense Data Grand Prix - Heat 3 Challenge sponsored by the Acquisition Innovation Research Center (AIRC) and Department of Defense (2022-2023).

Dr. Menon has extensive expertise in multidisciplinary Data Science research domains, including generative AI, bias and transparency in large language models (LLMs), deep learning, remote sensing, computational biology, AI-driven drug discovery, cybersecurity, explainable AI for better transparency in evolutionary human-AI autonomous system interaction and human-AI trust domains.

She is the recipient of the 2023 IEEE Region 3 Outstanding Young Professional award, the 2022 IEEE Huntsville Young Professional of the Year award, and the 2021 IEEE Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) Outstanding Young Professional award for her exemplary contributions to multidisciplinary Big Data applications research, global leadership, mentoring, community impact dedicated towards empowerment of women and minorities in STEM.
