Charger Cycle is a free bike-share program that provides bicycles for students to use on campus.

How It Works

Reserve your bike

Reserve your Charger Cycle online prior to the beginning of the semester and look out for your confirmation email.

Grab a key

Give your Charger Card to the desk assistant in the University Fitness Center, get a key.

Hop on a bike

Unlock your assigned Charger Cycle and start riding!

Ride all semester

Keep your Charger Cycle for the entire semester! Use the lock to secure it between rides.

Return

Lock up the bike at any of the designated Charger Cycle bike racks and turn in your key to the front desk of the UFC at the end of the semester.

About

Charger Cycle's efforts focus on sustainability by creating a safer, healthier, and more environmentally friendly campus. The Charger Cycle program is also aimed at alleviating some of UAH鈥檚 transit and parking problems.

100 Charger Cycles are available for checkout through University Recreation at the University Fitness Center.

Fall 2025 Registration will open Friday, August 1st!

• Registration is open for full-time students only.
• In addition to completing the online registration, students who are under 18 will be required to submit an under 18 waiver (located below) with parent signature prior to their registration being complete. Forms can be scanned and emailed to chargercycle@uah.edu or can be returned to the front desk of the UFC.

Policies & Procedures

• Do not ride Charger Cycles off campus.
• Make sure to lock the Charger Cycle when not in use.
• Report damaged Charger Cycles immediately to chargercycle@uah.edu. Do not ride damaged Charger Cycles.
• Students are financially responsible for Charger Cycles not returned or damaged.
• Late returns are subject to a fine of $1 per day.
• Students may be fined for intentionally damaged bikes.
• Always wear a helmet while riding a Charger Cycle. Helmets are not provided, but should be furnished by the individual.
• Do not ride on the handle bars of a Charger Cycle.
• Do not ride a Charger Cycle under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
• Obey traffic laws and crosswalk rules while riding the Charger Cycles.
• Charger Cycles are subject to availability.
